One Little Word-Joy 2012

As the year is coming to a close, so does my focus on the word JOY! Although I know all the words I have chosen over the years have carried with me and become a part of my everyday life. It has been good for me to think about, write about, make pages about the word “JOY”. I believe it has helped me to recapture a deep abiding joy. Do I have it all the time? No. Sorrow visited me August 8, 2011 and my life has been very different.
The movement between sorrow and joy is as thin as the veil. The second half of this year, I began to know joy more than sorrow. I also know it comes not from me. An inner peace has enveloped me and I feel so much stronger. I am anxious to move ahead with joy 2012, hope 2011, courage 2010, and in 2013, I choose - LIVE as my “One Little Word”.
I want to live and feel alive. I want to live renewed. I want to live refreshed. I want to live joyfully. I want to live to embrace. I want to live to nurture. I want to live to have grace. I want to live to extend mercy. I want to live open to possibilities. I want to live to love.

stampers' sampler take ten!!!

I received a complimentary copy of stampers sampler take ten tm Autumn 2012 today. I torn into the package to see what I could have possible gotten published. It was a card I made several years ago. They do not credit the stamps but I certain I included that information. The company is no longer in business but was The Angel Company tm.

This has given me the push to start submitting again because you just never know when they might use your art work.

Joy Pages

I began the newest pages for Joy with a tribute to my husband. Those I will keep personal. The first page is one of the cards I made for Christmas 2011. The one with courage is a doodle of my words from 2010, 2011 and 2012 and the word "Love" because it is the foundation of all the other words in my heart.

One Little Word for 2012

Looking back I have realized I picked the word “Hope” for my 2011 “One Little Word”. As best as I can tell I did one blog post for the word. One other page in my art journal but other than keeping the word close to my heart, I did not put to paper what the word was doing in my life.

As the year comes to close, it is hard to believe that my life has been turned upside down. Where is my hope? Hope is there but hard to grasp other than knowing there is always “Hope” when you believe that Jesus died for your sins and that you are forgiven if you ask to be forgiven.

My hope lies in knowing I have so many people who have been keeping me in prayer for peace and comfort and hope for a new day and way of living that will bring me “Joy”.

The word “Joy” has been popping up all around me. How do you have “Joy” when you are suddenly a widow at 61? Why would joy be the word I would want to focus on? It is not something I wish to feel right now but regardless of how I feel, I am going to claim “Joy” as my one little word for 2012.

I am also going to carry courage 2010, hope 2011 through me on the journey to “Joy”. I am sharing Ali Edwards blog so you can join us by choosing your "One Little Word" or let your word pick you and take the journey of exploring all that word has in store for your life.

ps, I usually post this type of message on my Creatively Living blog but it seems to have lost it's layouts.
